

As a sparkling 1930s jazz nightclub, the Skyroom Restaurant will be the setting for live Big Band music performed by the talented Utah State University Jazz Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble and Jazz vocalists, along with performances by Professor Emeritus Larry Smith, who will rock the Sky Club to the unforgettable Jazz tunes of Glenn Miller, Bobby Darin, Ella Fitzgerald and more.
Enjoy a gourmet dinner, including savory appetizers, scrumptious entrees, specialty drinks and delectable desserts, to the sultry sound of jazz vocals and guitar duo. Big Band music will draw you to the dance floor becoming a hot spot for the Lindy Hop, Jitterbug, Charleston and more.
Free swing dance lessons offered one hour before the event, will be provided by the USU Big Band Swing Club.
Jazz Night benefits the USU Larry Smith Jazz Scholarship and is a presented by USU Music Department, University Inn & Conference Center & USU Catering.

The sixth annual Jazz Night at the Sky Club, February 11-13, 2010, will be held in the Skyroom Restaurant featuring a sparkling performance of live Big Band Jazz music and swing dancing provided by the celebrated USU Jazz Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble & Jazz Vocalists.

Enjoy a delectable creation by USU Catering, under the direction of Executive Chef Richard Peterson. Appetizer and entrée choices are required at the time of ticket sale. Special Dietary Needs can be accommodated with advance notice required.
Scholarship
Jazz Night at the Sky Club supports the Larry Smith Jazz Scholarship, named for the professor Emeritus Larry Smith, who served as USU's Director of Jazz Studies for over 30 years until 2002. The event profit directly supports this scholarship, which is awarded to worthy members of the USU Jazz Ensemble & Jazz Orchestra annually.
A minimum of $6 per ticket is donated directly to the Larry Smith Jazz Scholarship. Additional tax deductible donations can be made when ordering tickets and are greatly appreciated. A donation form and receipt and envelope will be available at each table at the event. Checks should be payable to the USU Music Department, referencing the "Larry Smith Jazz Scholarship".

The USU Big Band Swing Club will be providing free swing dance lessons the hour before Jazz Night starts each evening and will be taught in the TSC International Lounge.

Venue
Taggart Student Center's Skyroom Restaurant is the wonderful venue for this intimate jazz night club experienced. Located on the fourth floor of the Taggart Student Center, the Skyroom has a wonderful overlook of campus and includes a comfortable location for dining and dancing. Tables of 3, 6 and 8 are available. Coat racks and nearby restrooms are also available.
Parking
Guests of Jazz Night at the Sky Club should park in the USU Parking Terrace, located at 850 North 700 East. To avoid parking fees on Friday & Saturday nights, guests should distinguish themselves as guests of this event when exiting the structure. The Parking Terrace is attended until 9:30pm nightly.
Accessibility
The Parking Terrace is located adjacent to the Taggart Student Center and contains several ramps. The Taggart Student Center also contains ramps in addition to elevators, in order to accommodate guests with disabilities. USU is in compliance with current ADA requirements.
